Burn fat with shorter workouts

If your goal is to burn fat, like the majority of people, forget the long and slow paced cardio workout. It’s not effective for burning fat and you weaken all your body, including heart and lungs! You need to strengthen your muscular and cardiovascular systems with shorter and more intense workouts, you need to speed up your metabolism.

The most effective cardio workout is interval training: the king of the exercises is sprints!

When you incorporate sprints in a cardio workout, you can be done in 10 minutes.
In this intense 10 minutes workout, your metabolism burns carbs, but at rest your body uses fat stores to replenish your energy system: you teach your body to burn fat while resting, and for many hours after your workout is done! Your body will burn more fat overtime!

If you don’t have an athletic background and are not already in a decent shape, don’t start with real sprints because you’re going to break your body!
Do sprints at 80% of maximal intensity for 10, 20 and 30 seconds. Between the sprints, allow the same time to recover, then do it again.

Remember, keep the workout short, because you need to keep the intensity.
Running is best but it can be too hard for many people, so you can use any cardio machines. A great alternative I like is jump rope and shadow boxing: no equipment needed, except a rope, and do it anywhere: a must!
